Communicate with Confidence
Communication and Training
I provide corporate communication services including content writing, editing, and translation. I’m also an experienced teacher offering professional development in business and legal writing. Occasionally I’m a language coach, helping corporate executives and legal professionals improve their spoken—and particularly written—English. My clients include Alvarado Tax Group, Banco Popular, College Board, Fondita de Jesús, Marini Pietrantoni Muñiz and O'Neill & Borges.
I focus on what will resonate with the target audience in corporate communications and teaching/training. The limitless potential to form compelling stories with words and ideas fuels my work.
About Me
I'm Jim Mavrikios. I've always been a language geek and am a stickler for strong, unambiguous messaging. I grew up in New York but lived in California for 23 years. I've had a diverse career in education, international public affairs, advertising, engineering and arts/culture. After working many years in print communication I founded a language school for adults in San Francisco. In 2013 I established a program for middle school and high school students at the French American International School, culminating in an international baccalaureate diploma in Arabic. In 2017 I moved to Puerto Rico, where I founded Language Satellite.
I'm a member of the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages, the National Council of Less Commonly Taught Languages, the Computer-Assisted Language Instruction Consortium, and the International Society for Technology in Education.

Jim has been coaching me in English for only seven weeks and my English has already improved. He comes to my office and we meet right after my lunch break. English coaching through Language Satellite is effective and convenient.

Fondita de Jesús
Language Satellite provided an excellent writing seminar for our staff retreat in Manatí. The presentation was designed specifically for our company based on the pre-assessment. It was practical and the material was of immediate use to us.
--Sandra Torres,
Alvarado Tax
I needed to raise my score on the TOEFL exam to attend Full Sail University in Miami. I registered for tutoring and was able to schedule the lessons myself online. The teacher gave me practical tips that not only helped my English, but helped me strategize when taking the test.
